【摘要】:Theedgewisecompressivestrengthofshortsandwichconstructionspecimensprovidesabasisforjudgingtheload-carryingcapacityoftheconstructionintermsofdevelopedfacingstress.Thistestmethodprovidesastandardmethodofobtainingsandwichedgewisecompressivestrengthsforpaneldesignproperties,materialspecifications,researchanddevelopmentapplications,andqualityassurance.Thereportingsectionrequiresitemsthattendtoinfluenceedgewisecompressivestrengthtobereported;theseincludematerials,fabricationmethod,facesheetlay-uporientation(ifcomposite),coreorientation,resultsofanynondestructiveinspections,specimenpreparation,testequipmentdetails,specimendimensionsandassociatedmeasurementaccuracy,environmentalconditions,speedoftesting,failuremode,andfailurelocation.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthecompressivepropertiesofstructuralsandwichconstructioninadirectionparalleltothesandwichfacingplane.Permissiblecorematerialformsincludethosewithcontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchasbalsawoodandfoams)aswellasthosewithdiscontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchashoneycomb).1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
