【摘要】:Thispracticeprovidesameansofqualitativeassessmentsofoutdoorweatheringeffectsonpressure-sensitivetapes.Theresistanceoftapestooutdoorweatheringisdeterminedrelativetotheresistanceofacontroltapewithknownstability.Iftestsdescribedinthispracticeproducethesametypeofdegradationasfoundinreal-timeexposuresofthesamematerials,itispossibletousetheresultsfromtheseshort-termteststodeterminethequantitativeeffectsofnaturalweathering.Thetimingofexposuretestingcoveringbothoutdoorconventionalandoutdooracceleratedexposureofthispractice,usinglevelsofultravioletsolarradiationexposure(MJ/m2)ofUV(295to385nm)isanimprovementinthetimingofexposuretesting.Testingspecificlevelsofsolarradiantexposure(MJ/m2)maybeusedtoestablishrelativeequivalentexposure,buttheuseof(MJ/m2ofUV(295to385nm))isthepreferredmethod.4,5,6Theradiantexposure(308or616MJ/m2)suggestedinthispracticeapproximatesoneandtwoyears,respectively,ofexposureintheSouthwestandFlorida.Sinceallmaterialsx201C;weatherx201D;atdifferentratesindifferentenvironments,resultsobtainedusingthispracticeshouldnotberepresentedasequivalenttonaturalweatheringuntilthedegreeofquantitativecorrelationhasbeenestablishedforthematerialtestedintheenvironmentofitsuse.Note18212;Theultravioletcontentofnaturalsunshineistime-of-yeardependent,bothqualitativelyandquantitatively.Thus,wintertimetestingrequireslongerexposureperiodsontheFlesnel-reflectortestmachinesdescribedtoachieveequalultravioletenergydepositionandaquantitativeequallevelofdegradationconcomitantwithsummertimetesting.1.1Thispracticecoversoneprocedurefortheexposureofpressure-sensitivetapestoanacceleratedoutdoorweatheringenvironment.1.2Thispracticedescribessamplepreparationandanacceleratedoutdoorenvironmenttowhichitshallbeexposed.Itdoesnotspecifywhatobservationsortestsaretobeperformedonthematerialfollowingexposure.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
